Is your machine getting paper jams?

THERE ARE WAYS TO PROACTIVELY PREVENT PAPER JAMS

Here are three easy steps you can take to prevent paper jams:

Fan out the paper before you load it into the machine – Depending on how the paper is stored, the sheets can stick together which is the most common cause of a paper jam. Before loading a ream into the machine, hold one end and fan it up and down a few times. This should loosen up the paper enough to get it ready for your print jobs

Check the weight of your paper – Normal paper weight is around 10 or 12 and is not extremely glossy.  If you are trying to print specialty items, your printer may not be equipped to handle that paper weight in it’s regular trays. If you go to our support page, you can find your machine and see how your specific machine handles specialty paper. If you are transitioning to more specialty projects, contact your Account Manager to see what kind of machine upgrade will handle your needs

Pay attention to the measurements of the machine – If the trays in the machine are overstuffed or if the alignment of the paper holders is off, those can cause jams. The green tabs in the photo below are examples of the markers that need to be in place correctly and may cause jams if not.
